The terrible customer service is one thing but failing to recognize a legitimate complaint is what has led me to filing this complaint. I contacted Instacart on May 3, May 4, and May 9 to ask for a resolution and provided proof showing that I had indeed asked for both, IN STOCK, items in my order and I was wholly ignored.
As a result, I ended up paying an exorbitant amount of one single item since the error of the shopper resulted in the coupon being removed from my order total. Unfortunately, the Instacart shopper only checked out one item and provided zero communication as to why the second item was not included in the purchase. Instacart had provided me with a coupon that would reduce the total cost of the order if my purchased was $45 or over - both items allowed me to meet that requirement in order to apply the coupon. On May 3, 2022, I placed an order for two items from Instacart to be purchased and delivered from the nearby Walmart. It was nice during the pandemic for a way to not have to deal with the crowds of people trying to stock up on things and to not get sick by going out to begin with but I guess I’ll be dealing with the crowds from now on. I understand the short staffing issue but they should’ve made my order the first order completed the next day has this been the case. I decided to reschedule for the next pickup time and that came and went and nothing so I had to cancel to get a refund. I never got any updates about it until they apologized that it was being rescheduled to the next day due to high demands? The next day the pickup time arrived and I tried contacting customer service because I still hadn’t received any updates it just stayed as being confirmed not being picked up by a shopper. I sent in my order to be completed and was supposed to pick up at 2pm. Instacart never started or completed my pickup order.
I hope we can reach a resolution to this matter soon. I forgot to mention, I did speak with your customer service team but they could not help me. You are welcome to send a check or wait for me to get the new card. So when you decide to pay me remember that the lost card is no longer in use. I applied for but not yet received my new one. I've since lost the BofA debit card I used that day with Instacart. But since it did not happen the first order, I will not make that second order until this issue is resolved. I was planning to use your service again, looking forward to that promised $30.00 off. so when I checked my account after receiving my groceries I found I was charged $105.71. I was not concerned because at that time, the computer responded that my money would be deducted without me having to do anything further.

The grocery delivery giant, which revealed the hiring slowdown to employees at an all-hands meeting, is far from the only tech firm to pull back from hiring in recent days. “As part of our second half planning, we’re slowing down our hiring to focus on our most important priorities and continue driving profitable growth.” Instacart uses gig workers to deliver groceries and other products from more than 70,000 stores in the US and Canada. “We hired more than 1,500 people over the last year and nearly doubled the size of our engineering teams,” Instacart said in a statement to The Post. Instacart uses gig workers to deliver groceries and other products from more than 70,000 stores in the US and Canada.
The news comes two months after Instacart slashed its valuation from $39 billion to $24 billion and said it had confidentially filed for an initial public offering. Instacart told employees Thursday that it’s slowing hiring across the entire company as the grocery delivery giant looks to weather an increasingly brutal tech downturn, The Post has learned.
